Recently, New Life Foundation had the opportunity to visit Mr. Chew and Mr. Wong’s families through the Ziarah Kasih Parlimen Petaling Jaya initiative, alongside YB Lee Chean Chung. These visits gave us a glimpse into their lives, their struggles, and the strength they find in each other.
Mr. Chew, once the breadwinner for his family of five, suffered a stroke that left him nearly blind and unable to continue his work as a roofer. Now, his brother has stepped in, working tirelessly to care for Mr. Chew and provide for the entire family. Through his brother’s sharing, we can see that their bond is unbreakable and even bigger than the challenges they face
Then, there’s Mr. Wong, who is currently battling lymphoma, facing each day with strength as he goes for treatments. Despite the challenges, his humble home remains a place filled with hope and unconditional determination 
During our visit, we were also able to provide them with food and daily necessities to ease their burdens. But more importantly, we listened to their stories and witnessed firsthand how community support can bring comfort during the hardest times.
